Abdominal plastic surgery lower
In those cases where only the skin on the lower part of the abdomen is loose and sagging, lower abdominal plastic surgery may suffice.
Lower abdominal plastic surgery may also be suitable in cases where there is a deep or disfiguring scar after, for example, a Caesarean where the skin folds itself and hangs over the scar. During this operation, the skin in the lower abdomen is stretched and tightened.
The skin around the navel and in the upper abdomen is not affected by lower abdominal plastic surgery.
Nor can the abs be sewn together to reduce the waist measurement.
The operation is carried out under a light general anaesthetic and the patient can leave the clinic on the same day.
The period off work is about two weeks and an abdominal belt must be worn during this period.
