Eyelid plastic surgery
A combination of inherited tendencies and reduced skin elasticity over the years is the reason for heavy, hanging eyelids.
This reduced elasticity also contributes to the fat under the eyelids causing bulging. Together, these factors lead to a less visible eye and a look of being constantly tired.
During upper eyelid plastic surgery, which takes an hour and is done under a local anaesthetic, the surplus skin and fat is removed. The stitches are removed after a week and the scar in the so-called orbit line will be almost invisible.
Some slight swelling may remain for a few weeks but always disappears spontaneously.
